The Blackbird Quartet

The Blackbird Quartet is a jazz project of vocalist Barbora Kafkova and pianist Dusan Kovacevic, based in Prague and supported by local talent. Each of the founding members bring their own musical influences and experiences into the project—from Barbora’s side, a traditional vocal jazz quartet sound, as on the recordings of Sarah Vaughan, Anita O’Day and Carmen McRae, and from Dusan’s side, a traditional jazz sound and approach, as well as more modern harmonies and arrangements. Their program is a blend of these two directions, at once deeply rooted in tradition while on a quest to be current and find a place in this day and age. The audience can expect to hear a number of carefully selected jazz standards, some played traditionally, some reharmonized in a modern way, as well as a couple of originals.

Admission: seating CZK 350, standing CZK 200.  It is no longer necessary to reserve a seat when purchasing a seat ticket.
