Andreas Varady Trio
Andreas Varady began playing guitar at the age of four and comes from a Hungarian Romani family in Slovakia, but he was raised in Ireland. After two years of busking, he was discovered by drummer and producer David Lyttle, who produced his debut album "Questions" (2010). Thanks to YouTube and the album, he caught the attention of prominent jazz musicians and, at 13, performed as the youngest headliner at Ronnie Scott’s in London. At the Montreux Jazz Festival (2012) he was noticed by Quincy Jones, later signed with his management, and subsequently joined the Verve label. He recorded his debut major-label album in L.A. with a number of world-class musicians. Varady also opened for Quincy Jones and George Benson on tour. In 2018 he released the acoustic album "The Quest"; in 2024 his fifth release, "Sunrise," came out featuring Adrian Varady, Danny Grissett, Doug Weiss, and Bernhard Wiesinger. He has also collaborated with Gregory Porter, Roy Hargrove, Mary J. Blige, and others. At the concert he will present modern, straight-ahead jazz and bebop full of energy and instrumental mastery.
