Bára Zmeková

Singer-songwriter, pianist and composer Bára Zmeková returns with her band for a special summer concert. Expect dream-like songs balancing on the edge of jazz, folk, classical music and subtle electronics. Alongside songs from the latest album Jediný na světě, the concert will also feature unreleased material and older compositions rarely performed live.

In 2019, Bára released her critically acclaimed album Lunaves, which earned two nominations at the Czech Anděl Music Awards in the categories Solo Artist of the Year and Discovery of the Year. In the same year, she won both the Jury and Audience Awards at the international showcase festival Czech Music Crossroads, and in 2020 represented the Czech music scene at WOMEX — the world’s largest world music expo. During her performances at Expo 2025 in Osaka, she captured the hearts of Japanese audiences and has recently returned from her second Japan tour. Although songwriting remains at the centre of her work, she is not afraid of experimentation or unexpected musical collaborations — her latest single Jiné stromy was recorded with Norwegian tuba player Daniel Herskedal.

Listeners in the Czech Republic and abroad often describe her concerts as “a soul trip” or “poetry in music.” One listener even said: “That was the first time I ever got high on music.”
