Music for Organ Sextet is a chamber jazz group that fuses funk, contemporary classical, and jazz music into an interesting mélange of spirited expression. The music is at points organized and fastidiously composed, but then will leap into improvised madness. The group has had quite a few performances at Jazz Dock and features a killer line up with a lot of experience working together. The instrumentation of the group is interesting; It's basically a wind ensemble with organ rhythm section with the unusual timbres of the reed instruments resting perfectly on warm organ pads.

To make the experience of Brian Charett's organ art as authentic as possible, we rent the original, old Hammond B3 organ together with Leslie Box for this concert. This musical instrument from the 60's hides such energy that when it is mastered by one of the world's greatest current masters of Hammond Organ Brian Charette, it will be a huge soul-jazz experience!
