Cyrille Oswald’s Tons of Bari brings a rich, deep sound and resonant soul to a repertoire of sophisticated jazz, deep tones, and energetic groove. Driven by the classic, melodic interplay of baritone sax and trumpet, this pianoless quartet embraces a smooth, contrapuntal style while infusing it with modern rhythms. Alongside Oswald, the line-up features Michal Cálik on trumpet, Vilém Špilka on bass, and Jesse Simpson on drums. Backed by this vibrant rhythm section, the band delivers a spacious, swinging sound where sophisticated phrasing meets a powerful, low-end groove.
