Dálava & Masaryk (USA/CAN/CZ)
Guitarist Aram Bajakian and vocalist Julie Úlehla’s Dálava project is an homage to the traditional Moravian folk music, taking melodies transcribed by Julie’s grandfather over 100 years ago and reinventing them in extremely stirring, avantgarde and post-rock musical language. This deeply personal project is fresh and bold.
Together with her long-time colleague, Tomas Reindl, Czech/Canadian singer-composer Lenka Lichtenberg returns to her homeland through innovative arrangements of songs collected by Jan Masaryk in the 1930s. Accompanied by Petr Dvorsky (bass), Robert Fischmann (winds), and Tomas Reindl (tabla, percussion), Lichtenberg reimagines the nation’s most beloved songs in unexpected, compelling flights of fantasy.
Admission seating CZK 250, standing CZK 180.
