Dan Bárta, eleven-time winner of the Anděl Award in the categories of Singer of the Year and Singer of the Quarter Century, made his mark in the 1990s with the band Alice and his performance in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. He also became an integral part of the iconic J.A.R. His wide musical range has been embraced, from the danceable Sexy Dancers to popular songs from films (including Snowboards, Raffles, Up and Down) to jazz associated with the Robert Balzar Trio. He has left his distinctive mark in many other domestic musical projects and has also performed with the greats of the world’s music scene (e.g., Bobby McFerrin and Sting's court guitarist Dominic Miller). In 2000, Dan Bárta surprised his fans with his own band Illustratosphere, with which he has released five full-length albums and one live double album. The concert tour in 2023 is dedicated to the return to the songs from his first two albums (the eponymous debut and Entropicture), which are being remastered and re-released (for the first time ever on vinyl). An unmistakable voice with an excellent singing technique, lyrics that play with the charm of Czech and first-class musicians: all this gives rise to songs that soar above the domestic standard of popular music. Dan Bárta & Illustratosphere have been enchanting listeners across generations and musical genres for more than twenty years!
