Filip Żółtowski Quartet | Yolk (POL)
Filip Żółtowski Quartet | Yolk is a jazz ensemble from Gdańsk, Poland, that combines traditional jazz elements with modern electronic sounds and hip-hop influences. The quartet is currently in the process of rebranding under a new, more versatile name: Yolk.
The band was founded in 2020 by trumpeter Filip Żółtowski and is known for its blend of jazz improvisation, electronic textures (inspired by artists such as Flume and Medasin), and hip-hop-influenced beats. Their music also incorporates Polish folklore and an emphasis on individuality. They have released two albums, “Humanity” and “Bibi,” with the latter representing a stronger shift toward electronic sounds and a more extensive use of synthesizers. The band has already excelled at numerous festivals across Europe.
