Gabriela Vermelho – Birthday Concert

Violinist, singer, and composer Gabriela Vermelho’s special birthday concert will be a musical celebration of her long-standing musical collaborations, her work, and her friendships in the music world.

Bands Maraca, GaRe, and Gadrew Way will perform both individually and together on stage—projects and fellow musicians with whom Gabriela Vermelho has shared her musical journey for many years. Special guests of the concert will also include koto and violin player Anna Romanovska, as well as pianist and composer Kryštof Marek. The audience can look forward to a diverse evening full of original music and a fusion of many musical styles that shape Gabriela’s work and that of her collaborators—from original chanson and songs inspired by folk music, to world music and alternative rock. There will be unique on-stage collaborations, as well as several premieres of compositions written specifically for Gabriela Vermelho or composed by Gabriela herself for this special occasion. The concert will thus offer not only a cross-section of her work to date, but also entirely new musical moments that will be heard for the very first time.
