Groove Dock is proud to introduce the founding father of the British jazz dance scene, Paul Murphy! The legendary DJ, promoter and producer will be supported by our resident Mr. Ultrafino, Mikikonga on percussions, and other guests.

Paul Murphy (UK) – DJ, promoter, producer, record collector and compiler, universally considered as the founder of the British jazz dance scene that provided a blueprint for the acidjazz and nujazz movements. Paul’s musical career included residencies at celebrated London clubs and nights such as the JAFFAS (Jazz and Funk, Funk and Soul), The Wag or The Electric Ballroom where he founded the now famous Jazz Room. As a promoter and manager of the famed Fusion Records store, he rediscovered many half-forgotten and unknown jazz musicians and recordings. During his residency in Hoxton Square’s Blue Note, he performed alongside the likes of Tito Puente & Celia Cruz, Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, Jimmy McGriff and Lonnie Smith. Paul revived his DJ career not so long ago, bringing crowds of jazz aficionados to sold out club nights all over the UK. The Special Groove Dock edition therefore gives you a unique chance to experience the master at work.

Mr. Ultrafino – Groove Dock resident, co-creator of Prague jazz/funk DJ scene, strictly vinyl player with more than two decades of musical experience. His sets are built mainly on 60's and 70's funk, soul and jazz, but they might be just as well be spiced up with disco, hiphop, latin, reggae and rare obscurities from pretty much any musical genre.

Mikikonga – One of the busiest and demanded Czech percussionists. As a member of the Champion Sound / Livě Band played at the world largest dance events such as IBE the Notorious, BOTY International, JUSTE DEBOUT, OUTBREAK Europe or SDK Europe.
