British-Australian vocalist Hetty Kate returns to the Jazzdock, where she is joined by guitarist David Dorůžka and bassist Tomáš Baroš, two of the leading figures in Czech jazz along with outstanding American drummer Jesse Simpson. Hetty first sang in the city at the Prague Proms in 2016 with James Morrison and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, and most recently recorded her latest album, Jazz in Four Seasons: Vol. 1, Spring, with an all Czech band.
With her clear voice and intonation, Hetty Kate brings a timeless quality to the beautiful songs of the jazz canon, from Gershwin to Dameron, spanning swing to bop. She improvises with a light hand, staying true to the song's story and melody without overshadowing the lyric.
