JAZZ DOCK ORCHESTRA
plays Porgy & Bess (Gil Evans / Miles Davis)

Monday 21/06/2021 from 21:00

As part of its June concert, the orchestra will play a selection of compositions from Miles Davis' famous album Porgy and Bess, which was recorded in 1958 in New York and released by Columbia Records. This work was famous for the amazing instrumentation of the arranger Gil Evans, who is still a role model for generations of his followers. Today, the legendary but still current music will be complemented by current compositions by the leaders of the big band - Jan Jirucha and Andy Schofield.

The JAZZ DOCK ORCHESTRA has been Jazz Dock’s flagship band from the beginning of its successful operation, featuring seventeen concerts with its own repertoire and compositions by the world's great authors. During this time, the big band has played intensively, gaining a regular audience and boldly traversing its second year of existence.
