The Sound Pack
JAZZ OF FOUR CONTINENTS

The Sound Pack is a jazz vocal quartet formed in 2016 by the group’s leader, Marcin Wawrzynowicz. The group consists of experienced and valued musicians, graduates and lecturers of Jazz Institutes at Music Academies in Katowice, Wrocław and Poznań – Joanna Świniarska, Katarzyna Mirowska, Małgorzata Biniek and Marcin Wawrzynowicz.  The vocalists are prizewinners of various international and Polish jazz competitions. Their portfolios include their own albums and participation in numerous jazz music festivals, such as Voicingers, Spotkania Wokalistów Jazzowychu, Jazz nad Odrą, Lotos Jazz Festiwal, Lady’s Jazz Festiwal, Śląski Festiwal Jazzowy, Green Town of Jazz, Hałda Jazz, Jazz! Open Mind. The quartet’s idea refers to the tradition of American street vocal ensembles of the swing era, as well as to more modern well-known groups like The Manhattan Transfer or The New York Voices. The group's repertoire includes jazz standards and compositions in Polish, in their own arrangements for various bands, starting from a quintet and ending with a big band.  In October 2019, the premiere of the band's first studio album – The Sound Pack "On Air" – took place.
