JNR Robinson & “B’r’and of Gospel”
JAZZ OF FOUR CONTINENTS
JNR has been plying his vocal trade since the age of 4. He started as a young vocal protégé with his brothers singing in the local churches and quickly caught the attention of many a discerning ear. Since then he has become one of the most popular and widely respected gospel vocalist in the United Kingdom, touring extensively throughout the country and performing in many prestigious venues. He has appeared on numerous TV and radio shows, as well performed in the “West End” musicals ‘Mama I Want To Sing’ (1995), which included “A List” Divas such as Chaka Khan, Deniece Williams and Mica Paris. To cap an already fulfilling and successful year he was the recipient of the coveted gospel award for “Best male vocalist of the year” 94/95. JNR has travelled to many countries around the world, such as North America, Brasil, Colombia, Equador and Mexico; amazing audiences with his vocal dexterity and ability to take them to another level of musical appreciation. His sultry honey soaked gospel tones leave the most cynical of listeners open mouthed and wanting more! His current focus now is Europe, where he has been performing regularly in countries such as Denmark, Germany, Italy, Poland and Switzerland, where he has been guest soloist for many choirs, as well, taught and conducted many in various choir workshop festivals. He has performed twice at the Vatican, once in 1996 with the then, top female group, Eternal, for Pope John Paul II and more recently, in 2013, Pope Francesco, singing the Bob Dillon classic ‘Blowing In The Wind’. JNR has been backing vocalists for various artists in the Christian and Pop arena. JNR has appeared on numerous albums as both backing vocalist and main featured artist. This gives you an insight into the character of the man; his primary objective whatever the project is to give the audience what they came for and in his world that always amounts to the same thing: “Q.U.A.L.I.T.Y.”.
