Kale

It is said that one cannot sing the blues without feeling it. Likewise, one cannot play Romani music unless one has led the traditional life of the Roma. Kale's music clearly reflects the unique experience of Roma music. Kale has been playing and singing together for as long as they can remember. From early childhood they played with their parents, violinists and other cymbal musicians. In the 90s, Kale, who was the court band of the Queen of Roma Music Věra Bíla, performed together at many sold out concerts. Their phenomenal success eventually led to a recording contract with BMG. The first Rom Pop album was released in several countries in 1996 (voted one of the best World Music records of the year in France). Kale’s second gold album (released in 1998) paved the way for an international concert career. With their comeback, Kale expands their group with keyboard and percussion instruments and collaborates with the famous Roma vocalist Gitana.
