Kamila Csenge is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she studied Guitar Performance on a scholarship (summa cum laude) and during her studies received the John LaPorta Award for outstanding achievement in her field. Prior to that she graduated from the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in the field of jazz and classical guitar. At Berklee she studied guitar with artists such as Jon Damian, Rick Peckham, Mick Goodrick, John Baboian and Kim Perlak. After returning from the U.S. she formed a band with excellent musicians — Yamirah Gercke (guitar), Kateřina Vacková (double bass, electric bass) and Ivo Hermanovský (drums) — with whom she will launch her new album of original compositions at Jazz Dock.

The band focuses on modern instrumental jazz, inspired by artists such as Pat Metheny, Billy Childs and Chick Corea. Kamila has had the opportunity to perform in renowned halls and jazz clubs in New York, Boston and Berlin and at festivals in the U.S., for example at Williamsburg Music Center, Shrine, ShapeShifter Lab, New England Guitar Festival and Ryles Jazz Club, and in the Czech Republic, for example at the Hybernia Theatre, the International Festival of Concert Melodrama, the Prague Congress Centre and others. The album will be released on the Berlin label Fat Banshee Records and distributed by the Berlin publisher Random Musick, which has also released several albums by guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel.
