Katarzia

Singer, songwriter, and lyricist Katarzia recently released an acoustic album titled Šťastné dieťa under the Animal Music label. On this new record, Katarzia shifts away from electronic music and returns to traditional acoustic instrumentation. Through her lyrics, she once again authentically conveys the contemporary experiences of women by portraying interpersonal relationships in today’s society, while also showing the ability to laugh at herself with a sense of perspective. Since releasing her previous album n5 (2021), Katarzia has composed music for the TV series Pozadí událostí directed by Jan Hřebejk, for the feature-length documentary Moje nová tvář directed by Jarmila Štuková, as well as for theatrical productions. This year, she also contributed to the successful project Horáček Gen XYZ for Prague’s Cirkus La Putika, where she worked alongside several other producers and musicians to reimagine the lyrics and compositions of Michal Horáček. In the past, Katarzia has received a Radio_Head Award, and her work has been recognized by the prestigious Berlinale festival.
