Katarzia – New Album Release

Singer-songwriter and lyricist Katarzia has recorded a new acoustic album Šťastné dieťa which will be released on October 6, 2023 via Animal Music. The new songs were composed by Katarzia largely on the piano, and the arrangements and production were co-written by producer and founder of the Animal Music label Petr Ostrouchov and pianist Kristína Smetanová. On the new album Katarzia moves away from electronica back to classical instrumentation. In her lyrics, she once again conveys authentically the experiences of women through images of interpersonal relationships in contemporary society, while at the same time being able to laugh at herself with insight. In the interim period after the release of her previous album n5 (2021), Katarzia has, among other things, composed for the TV series Pozadí událostí (“Background Events”) directed by Jan Hřebejk, for the feature documentary Moje nová tvář (“My New Face”) directed by Jarmila Štuková, and for theatre performances. In the past, Katarzia won the Radio Head Awards and her work has been recognized by the prestigious Berlinale Film Festival.
