Lanugo
Prague alt‑pop band Lanugo is back—after seven years, they return with the long‑awaited album Lanugo, 2026. They remain true to their gift for sensitively blending genres and emotions, drawing listeners into a unique musical world. Experience two exceptional evenings with this cult band and hear 16 new tracks from Lanugo, 2026, self‑released on April 29, 2026.
Lanugo is often described as the best you can hear in the Czech Republic within alternative pop. Deeply felt lyrics and genre‑open music go hand in hand with a gripping performance that guarantees a breathtaking live experience. They introduced themselves with an eponymous debut in 2009, and at the end of 2011 their second album, Lanugo, 2011, was christened at the New Stage of the National Theatre. The album earned a nomination for the Apollo Awards. An EP followed, then Lanugo, 2014 with the hit Sára.
On their latest album, Lanugo, 2019, the band’s sound ventured into uncharted waters while remaining, in contrast, true to the melancholic thread that stubbornly ties much of their work together. Lanugo, 2019 is a contemporary record full of fresh sound and playful experimentation, and it placed highly in polls for the strongest and best album of 2019. “Adulthood has arrived. Lanugo has made one of the strongest Czech records of the year,” wrote critic Honza Vedral. Lanugo now returns to their home venue, Jazz Dock, and as one recent concertgoer aptly put it: Lanugo are hidden hits and humble anthems that will change your outlook on life.
