Limbo
For the past two decades, Limbo has stood at the forefront of contemporary Czech jazz. To mark their 20th anniversary, the band presents their new album Spirit of Chaos, released on June 1, 2024, by Amplion Records. The album has been nominated for the 2025 Anděl Award in the Jazz category. Limbo is an unusually orchestrated quartet that weaves together jazz foundations with a rich, genre-blending musical collage. Their music merges composition and improvisation with distinctive ethnic influences—free from stylistic boundaries or conventions. It’s music that is accessible yet intricately performed. Unaffected by trends, Limbo follows its own path with a clear and authentic artistic voice. One of their key inspirations from jazz history is the legendary Art Ensemble of Chicago.
