Los Quemados
The band, founded by bassist Filip Spálený in 2008, has performed numerous concerts throughout the Czech Republic and Europe and has previously released four albums, all under the Slovak label Hevhetia – African Sailor (2010), Sirius (2012), Circling Bird (2015), and Duck Night (2019). Los Quemados deliver interesting, original, and energetic compositions by Filip Spálený, Jakub Doležal, Jan Bálek, and Petr Mikeš, blending elements of jazz, funk, and fusion. Their instrumental skill, high energy, and overall tightness as a band are of truly impressive quality. The musicians cite influences such as Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Michael Brecker, Chick Corea, Michael Jackson, Victor Bailey, Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Weckl, Weather Report, King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Tower of Power, Pat Metheny, and Tribal Tech.
