Marcella Camargo Quintet (USA /CZ)
JAZZ OF FOUR CONTINENTS
The now New York based, singer, composer and arranger Marcella Camargo has been present in the musical scene since she was 14 years old. Born an American but a Brazilian by heart, she deeply cherishes both countries and feels that both the USA and Brazil have influenced her as a musician. Her recent work consists of participating as a featured artist and lead vocal on John Finbury’s album Imaginário, which, with the track “A Chama Verde,” has been nominated ‘Song of the Year’ for the 2016 Latin Grammy. She is also featured as lead vocal on the album Sem Tradução by Fernando Brandão, works as a recording artist for Hawthplay Records and performs live as a background singer for New York artists Pam Steebler and Leah Rich. A 2012 alumna from the Berklee College of Music, as a World Scholarship awarded student, she was handpicked to perform and work with international artists such as singer songwriter Paul Simon, singer Nona Hendryx, Brazilian singer songwriter Ivan Lins, Nicaraguan singer Luis Enrique the "Prince of Salsa", Spanish Flamenco guitarist Javier Limón, Brazilian singer songwriter Filó Machado, Berklee faculty and former Whitney Houston pianist Jetro da Silva, and Brazilian singer songwriter Marcos Valle.
