Marta Kloučková Quintet

Singer, lyricist and songwriter Marta Kloučková is a prominent figure on the contemporary Czech jazz scene. Her inspirations include Patricia Barber, Becca Stevens, Joni Mitchell and Mirka Křivánková. In her work, she combines jazz tradition with original expression and poetry, which makes her perceived as one of the most unique faces of contemporary Czech jazz. She is accompanied by leading Czech musicians: David Dorůžka (guitar), Jaromír Honzák (double bass), Vít Křišťan (piano/fender) and Marek Urbánek (drums). The band's program will consist of her own work - the albums Loving Season and Stopa snu. Marta is a graduate of the Jaroslav Ježek Jazz High School in Prague, following on from her previous studies in Musical Theatre at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory. She is a member of the vocal sextet Skety and collaborates with ensembles and musicians across genres (Gustav Brom Big Band, B-side Band, South Bohemian Philharmonic, D.Y.K., Jana Kirschner and others). She has performed alongside world stars such as Lizz Wright and Judith Hill. She hosts and prepares the program Sedmé nebe on Czech Radio Vltava, focusing on the vocal jazz scene. In 2019 - 2022, Marta organized the international vocal festival and workshop Voicingers on Tour Czechia. As a member of this prestigious music platform, she toured and performed with a number of leading European jazz musicians and singers in France, Latvia, Poland and Slovakia.
