Marta Kloučková Quintet – New CD Release
Marta Kloučková is a Czech jazz singer and composer. With her strong feminine voice, Marta as a soloist and a member of the vocal group SKETY conquered the hearts of many listeners in the Czech Republic and elsewhere in Europe. In 2018, she debuted with her album "Loving Season", which was ranked among the best Czech jazz albums of that year. She performs with The Marta Kloučková Quintet, surrounded by the créme-de-la-créme of Czech jazz musicians (David Dorůžka – guitar, Vít Křišťan – piano, Jaromír Honzák – double bass, Marek Urbánek – drums). Marta collaborates with ensembles and musicians across genres (Concept Art Orchestra, D.Y.K. and others). In autumn 2021, she performed alongside singer Lizz Wright, in the past she collaborated with the French composer and pianist Thierry Maillard (album Kingdom of Arwen). At the Jazz Dock, she will play a concert to launch her latest album Stopa snu (Hevhetia, 2022), which she recorded with her quintet. Stopa snu is a collection of original songs and poems set to music by Marta Kloučková, which have a common denominator: transformation. The songs were written between 2020 and 2022, they depict loss, sadness and disillusionment as well as a gradual path to transformation, a path lined with hope and faith in good endings. Musically, the album moves between jazz and songwriting, but it certainly does not lack improvisation, spontaneity, playfulness and ferocity.
