Petr Nohavica "Glance"

Petr Nohavica is a drummer and composer who has made his mark on the Czech music scene not only as the leader of his own project, Glance, but also as a sideman in projects across various genres, such as Winterspring (Allison Wheeler Quartet), B/Y Organism, Bardo, Tour Guide Blonde, and Drifter Days. He has also collaborated with other artists including Lukáš Oravec, Luboš Soukup, Robert Balcar, and Tal Arditi. Glance is the result of several years of compositional work. For the recording of the self-titled album, Petr Nohavica invited leading figures of Czech jazz: guitarist David Dorůžka, pianist Jiří Levíček, saxophonist Cyrill Oswald, and double bassist Jaromír Honzák. The album also features guest vocalist Allison Wheeler. It was released by the Brno-based label Bivak Records and in 2024 appeared on the longlist for the Anděl Awards in the jazz category. In 2025, the project won the Central European Showcase. Glance now returns in a new lineup – the band continues to be led by Petr Nohavica, joined again by Allison Wheeler, and completed by young but already well-established musicians: guitarist Martin Hrubec, saxophonist Nela Dusová, and double bassist Luan Goncalves.
