Pudlax Trio ft. Viktoria Søndergaard
"11 mg" album release concert
The Prague trio Pudlax is going to present their first album, 11 mg, at Jazz Dock. The sibling duo of Jan Pudlak and Klára Pudláková, together with drummer Jakub Švejnar, come up with a large dose of music with eleven specific pieces resulting from the ideas of pianist Jan Pudlak in synergy with the significant input of the other members of the trio to create a collective musical dialogue. The trio's music works with free improvisation, jazz idioms and twentieth-century compositional techniques. All this is supported by an invited guest, the Danish vibraphonist Viktoria Søndergaard, whom Klára Pudláková met at Erasmus at the Conservatoire National Supérieure de la Musique et de Danse de Paris. The two performers hit it off both humanly and musically, which resulted in their collaboration with the Pudlax trio. Viktoria Søndergaard is a Danish vibraphonist, composer, bandleader and a rising star on the Danish jazz scene. As a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, she released her debut album Already Monday? with her quartet Baryl, which won the JazzDanmark competition in 2022 and has since played sold-out concerts in many parts of Denmark.
