Leading Czech jazz and blues guitarist Roman Pokorný will celebrate his milestone birthday with a special concert at Jazz Dock. This birthday event will not only mark an important personal anniversary but also offer a rich musical journey, showcasing different facets of his long-respected and diverse artistry.

The evening will be presented as a three-part program. The first part features Roman Pokorný with his trio Bird Tribute, a project dedicated to the legacy of Charlie Parker and the modern jazz language that has deeply influenced his musical path. This segment promises an energetic yet deeply jazz-infused opening to the night.

The second part will showcase the Roman Pokorný Brazilian Coffee project, featuring brand-new original compositions inspired by Latin American rhythms, colors, and atmospheres. The album was recorded in June this year at Sono Studio with a top-tier band, which will also appear on the Jazz Dock stage. Brazilian Coffee blends virtuosity, groove, melodic playfulness, and the joy of collective performance, representing one of the most current chapters in Pokorný’s work.

The evening will conclude with a bluesy jazz jam session, reflecting Pokorný’s blues roots and offering space for spontaneous interaction, improvisation, and a relaxed club atmosphere. This final part promises a unique, in-the-moment experience that can only happen live.

Roman Pokorný is regarded as one of the top figures of the Czech jazz scene. He has released nine original albums, collaborated with numerous prominent Czech and international musicians, and received the Anděl Award for Best Jazz Album. His birthday concert at Jazz Dock will offer not only a celebration of a significant life milestone but also a powerful, authentic, and multi-layered musical evening.
