Scott Kinsey Group - Thought Distortions (USA)

The Scott Kinsey Group brings together Scott Kinsey with guitarist Nir Felder, bassist Frederico Heliodoro, drummer Gergo Borlai, and vocalist Mer Sal — an international lineup united by a shared focus on groove, sound, and spontaneous interaction. The program features music from Kinsey’s upcoming album Thought Distortions, selections from his catalog, and selected compositions from the Weather Report repertoire. The performances emphasize electric textures, rhythmic interplay, and open improvisation, drawing a direct line between the legacy of fusion and a contemporary, forward-looking sound. 

Nir Felder has performed and recorded with artists including Esperanza Spalding, Terri Lyne Carrington, Jack DeJohnette, and Meshell Ndegeocello. Frederico Heliodoro has collaborated with Milton Nascimento, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Pedro Martins, and Louis Cole. Gergo Borlai has performed with artists including Nguyen Lee, Frank Gambale, and Gary Willis. Mer Sal contributes vocals and sonic layering, expanding the group’s dynamic range and atmospheric depth. Scott Kinsey is known for his work with Tribal Tech, Joe Zawinul, his own projects, and film scores including Ocean’s 11 and Analyze That.
