Silva Šírová Sextet - CD What's Hidden
Modern jazz sextet playing mostly original compositions. The pieces are diverse—ranging from Latin, swing and ballads to drum'n'bass—but unified by an emphasis on melodic and harmonic consistency. The band consists of musicians who met during their studies at the Jaroslav Ježek Jazz Conservatory in Prague, and also cooperate with the leading personalities of the Czech jazz and pop scenes. The repertoire of the sextet emerged, among others, in connection with the composition lessons led by Milan Svoboda. In 2018, the band was awarded in the Jazzfruit competition, as the winner of the Czech category, and also performed on the Mladí Ladí Jazz OPEN-AIR Festival, broadcasted live by Radio Vltava. The band has recently released its debut album What's Hidden, recorded at Svarov Studio and available at: https://poli5.bandcamp.com/album/whats-hidden or on Spotify.
