Skety
Skety is a six-member vocal ensemble that has been active on the domestic and international music scene since 2014. Their debut CD, Skety, was nominated in four categories at the 2015 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARA). At the prestigious Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards in Boston, USA, in 2025, Skety won two major awards: Best Jazz Album and Best Jazz Song. They draw inspiration from the tradition of jazz a cappella ensembles, while happily and frequently pushing those boundaries in unexpected directions, creating their own distinctive sound and style. In addition to performing adapted songs, their repertoire focuses heavily on original compositions, particularly those written by composer Petr Wajsar. Their music is often said to evoke legendary vocal groups such as The Singers Unlimited and The Manhattan Transfer, although Skety follow their own unique and original path. Skety have released four albums.
Interesting fact: StarDance a cappella – On 17 November 2018, Skety accompanied an entire episode of the Czech Television programme StarDance on ČT1 using only their voices. It was the first performance of its kind in the world.
