In cooperation with Czech Radio, we traditionally organize a one-day mini-festival at the end of the year bearing the same name as the music station. Once again, it focuses mainly on progressive and original ensembles operating on the borders of genres, mixing jazz with electronics and other elements of contemporary modern classical, rock, alternative, and pop music.

Takuya Kuroda - Trumpeter Takuya Kuroda, a Kobe native living in Brooklyn, arrives with his eighth album, “Everyday”—a high-octane fusion of jazz, hip-hop, and neo-soul. Since releasing the critically acclaimed “Midnight Crisp” (2022), hailed by PopMatters as “a future classic,” Kuroda has continued to tirelessly pursue a balance between studio production and live expression. Over more than twenty years in the U.S., he studied at The New School, collaborated with DJ Premier’s Badder Band and Akoya Afrobeat, and released on labels such as Blue Note and Concord. “The music I want to make can only be created by putting in the work every day,” says Kuroda—and that is exactly what the album title “Everyday” reflects: everydayness as process, rhythm, and philosophy. Built on the solid foundation of David Frazier’s drums, the album pulses with groove, singable melodies, and moments like “Bad Bye” featuring vocalist FiJa, or the closing “Curiosity,” where Kuroda swaps trumpet for flugelhorn. The result is an album that is deeply personal yet accessible—bridging tradition and the present in music that is stylistically unique and at the same time naturally alive.

MaBaSo – a top-tier international project comprising electric vibraphonist Bernard Maseli, bassist Michał Barański, and drummer Daniel Šoltis. Their repertoire consists of original compositions at the intersection of modern jazz and fusion, with the sound of the vibraphone and bass guitar enriched by numerous electronic effects. All the protagonists have a wealth of notable collaborations with figures such as Bennie Maupin, Nigel Kennedy, Tomasz Stańko, Michał Urbaniak, Aga Zaryan, Rich Perry, and Ingrid Jensen. Bernard Maseli – el. vibes; Michał Barański – b; Dano Šoltis – dr.

Simona Hulejová & Robin Galia – The duo will play a more intimate set. Original compositions from the Baron Haze project will be featured, complemented by selected works of modern jazz. A charismatic voice combined with piano and synthesizer, sensitive improvisation, and an intimate atmosphere.
