Double bassist Tomáš Baroš, one of the most prominent and highly respected jazz musicians in the Czech Republic, will celebrate his birthday with a special concert accompanied by his long-time musical friends. 

Simpson / Baroš / Kyncl / Light is a remarkable international jazz quartet that brings together two leading Czech and two American musicians. Together, they create a unified musical voice distinguished by inventive improvisation, stylistic versatility, and authentic personal expression.The lineup features bassist Tomáš Baroš, one of the most respected figures in contemporary Czech jazz. His name is associated with nearly seventy recordings and performances at major European festivals, as well as appearances on prestigious stages across the USA and Asia. The group also includes American guitarist Max Light, whose energetic, technically sophisticated, and imaginative style has earned acclaim from critics and audiences alike in New York and throughout Europe. Saxophonist Jan Kyncl is known on the Czech jazz scene for his distinctive sound and strong artistic creativity. The quartet is completed by American drummer Jesse Simpson, who brings refined rhythmic sensibility, dynamic nuance, and a deep understanding of both jazz tradition and modern innovation. This ensemble represents a rare convergence of diverse musical schools, cultures, and experiences—resulting in an original and richly textured synthesis of contemporary jazz.
