This Quartet is an ensemble of extraordinary virtuosi with different musical and cultural backgrounds and explores ever-widening musical horizons and seeks to find a collective identity. Vienna-based violinist Efe Turumtay is accompanied by Tomas Liška’s dazzling bass lines, András Dés’s moving rhythm partitions and melancholic tunes of Turkish fretless guitar virtuoso Cenk Erdoğan. The quartet defines what it is to be a performer and composer ensemble and proves to be an essential voice in the world music scene today. The original compositions of Turumtay, Liška, Dés and Erdoğan show the audience a through-line between seemingly disparate worlds and reminds us that great music is international.
